NEWABH intends to have ADA compliant access replace an existing stairwell leading to the lower basement level of the NEWABH building. The low portion of the ramp (from the door entry point to the top of the current staircase) will need to be enclosed. Further, this construction may impact a retaining wall and is to be included in the engineering and construction. NEWABH desires to have the following services performed: A licensed and bonded architectural engineer to prepare design documents necessary to obtain a building permit for the NEWABH Access Project. Design Services will occur in one phase: Phase I will take the contracted scope to a design, to include but not limited to graphic site plan, parking lot, building exterior, ramp elevations, enclosure, engineering necessary to support retaining wall, description of major building systems and materials, outline specifications and to preparation of all design documents necessary to obtain a building permit for the NEWABH Access Project. Phase I will include: The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: Administration: • Coordinate with stakeholders including NEWABH Facilities staff and utilities. • Review project feasibility. • Collaborate with government departments (e.g., City of Colville Building Department) to verify their requirements are met. • Invoicing; Design: • Conduct technical building analysis of designated property. • Designing the layout of the exterior/interior structure. • Assist NEWABH with the prioritization of design and reconcile with project budget. • Develop action plan that categorizes design by immediate, suggested, desirable, and optional factors. Planning: • Assist NEWABH with acquiring all necessary permits to complete the project. • Create all design documentation to conform to local, state, and federal standards.
