3.3.1 Perform application/installation of roadway pavement markings (paint, thermoplastic, preformed thermoplastic, preformed roadway marking tape) on asphalt or Portland Cement concrete, including long lines, short lines, legends, and arrows. 3.3.2 Own, operate, and possess sufficient staff and service vehicles/equipment to perform the work. The equipment shall only be allowed to remain for the duration of the scheduled services. a. Equipment must maintain a constant speed independent of the operator and allow for immediate interruption of the process in the event of unacceptable conditions or equipment malfunction. 3.3.3 Install Raised Pavement Markings (RPMs) as required by plans, schematics, and traffic engineering direction. 3.3.4 Use reflective pavement markers (3M 290 or equal) and not permit self-adhesive RPMs. 3.3.5 Provide removal of roadway pavement markings using vacuum recovery, ensuring no damage to the pavement surface (asphalt or Portland Cement concrete). 3.3.6 Have staff capable of understanding and following plans, schematics, and City of Phoenix standards, including the Supplement to the Maricopa Association of Governments’ Uniform Standard Specifications and Details for Public Works Construction (Sections 461, 462, 463). 3.3.7 Perform services during specified hours by the City. 3.3.8 Clean and prep pavement surfaces prior to application/installation to ensure proper adhesion of markings. 3.3.9 Inform the designated City Representative of an estimated project start date and proposed project end date at the time of order placement. 3.3.10 Be responsible for temporary traffic control in compliance with City of Phoenix (MUTCD) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations.
