The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is requesting proposals from interested proposers for a trained robotics specialist using Robotic inspection equipment performs a visual inspection of the generator stator and field in two steps. First, high-resolution video cameras navigate through the gap between the stator core and field. A full visual inspection of the core ID and the field surface is performed, providing a clear view of the stator core laminations, stator and field wedges, field body, and the inboard end of both retaining rings. Next a digital borescope provides a high-resolution visual inspection of normally inaccessible areas on the generator, outside of the bore region. These areas include the stator end windings, field coil end turns, auxiliary components, and the stator terminal connections.
