The new sign and associated infrastructure shall meet the requirements outlined in this RFP. The Owner will not be responsible for delays related to processing the permit application, reviewing drawings, resolving issues, and receiving all appropriate approvals to begin construction activities. The bidders are responsible for obtaining a sign permit and/or building permit, and all necessary trade permits from the following agencies, as required: Town of Smithsburg Washington County - Plan Review & Permitting Prior to submitting permit applications, the contractor shall submit drawings to the Owner for approval. The Contractor is responsible to visit the site and coordinate all electrical connections and routing. The Contractor’s price shall include all work, including electrical work, required to deliver a fully functional electronic sign to the Owner. The proposed approximate location is indicated on the attached site plans The proposed LED sign is to replace an existing wood/metal sign. Prior to the start of construction, the contractor shall submit a written plan and drawings for approval by WCPS staff. This plan shall include the location of the sign, mounting/support means and methods (concrete/foundations/brackets, etc.), as well as the plan for all electrical work including source (panel and circuit), location of disconnect(s), materials, route etc. The existing masonry sign base will remain in place, should be cleaned, and used to mount the new LED Sign. There is no existing electric or pathways to the existing signage. Bidders shall consider staff and students will be present for the duration of the project, therefore work that would impede traffic flow around the main entrance or that would require an excessive amount of noise will need to be performed after school hours.
