The scope of work generally consists of the construction of the second phase of the Beeline Trail which includes 0.45 miles of paved multi-use trail beginning on Corbin Avenue near the Route 72 east bound on-ramp and ending on West Main Street approximately 190 feet west of Lincoln Street. The trail is ADA accessible with a mostly 12’ paved width for most of its length. The trail primarily follows an alignment along the south side of the CT Route 72 right of way. Construction will generally include tree clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage improvements, a retaining wall, fencing and paving. The typical cross section used for the multi-use trail consists of three inches of bituminous pavement installed over 6-inches of processed aggregate base material. Root barriers will also be added where needed to protect the pavement cross section from tree root damage.
