2.4 Product Specifications A. The utility poles shall be class one, butt-treated western red cedar poles, no roof cut, per Seattle City Light Material Standards # 5072.00, Rev. 6/06/23. (Exhibit A – MaterialsStds-CityLight) B. Treatment Process 1. All poles shall be treated with pentachlorophenol (Penta) preservative. 2. The carrier oil shall be free of PAH, Poly-Aromatic Hydrocarbons, and contain no Chlorinated Co-Solvents per AWPA (American Wood Preservers Association) Standards. C. Labeling All utility poles shall be stamped or metal tagged in the approximate center of both the top and bottom ends indicating class and length. D. Inspection / Certification Requirements Each shipment of poles shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Inspection including a Report of Treatment signed by a King County approved independent agency certifying to compliance with this specification. E. MSDS Requirements In addition to any requirements relating to MSDS in this ITB, the Contractor shall submit a copy of the MSDS for each product used in the treatment process, including but not limited to preservatives and solvents.
