MassDOT is seeking information from vendors regarding the development of a Parametric Estimation Tool to be integrated into its existing Salesforce-based Municipal Grants Portal. We are requesting input on potential approaches, capabilities, solutions, and an estimated cost range to support this initiative. This tool will replace a current Excel-based process, enabling municipal staff to create detailed project cost estimates. MassDOT seeks guidance on translating the Excel tool's functionality into Salesforce, consuming our API to get the Weighted Average Bid prices for each construction item in the estimates, and providing a simple, user-friendly experience for our end-users. Parametric Estimation is a strategic focus for the Highway department, allowing end-users who may not have engineering backgrounds to fill out a series of forms to produce preliminary but detailed cost estimates for Highway construction projects.
