2 – GENERAL: Required Specifications A. The Transformer Oil Purifier (TOP) system shall be designed and constructed to process electrical insulating oil to remove particulate, moisture, and dissolved gasses. B. The equipment shall be configured to vacuum dry the solid insulation system of the transformer; pull vacuum on the transformer; purify the oil as it fills the transformer from the oil source; and break vacuum with dry air from within the trailer. C. The TOP shall have a nominal oil flow rate of 2400 USgph, shall have an inlet pump, inlet filter, oil heater, vacuum chamber, discharge pump, outlet filter, and vacuum system as specified D. The TOP will be mounted in a 40’ semi-trailer with all of the features specified below to provide a complete, ready-to-use package from a single 460 Volt / 3 phase / 60 Hz power source. E. Unit shall have an ISO 9001 registered quality system. F. Unit shall possess an ASME U-stamp with qualified welders and weld procedures to construct the pressure vessels and piping specified. 3 – SYSTEM PERFORMANCE: A. Transformer oil at 70 degrees F and containing 12% of dissolved gas and 100 PPM total water content shall be degasified and dehydrated to the following specifications in a single pass: B. Dielectric Breakdown Voltage: 1. Standard Method ASTM D-1816 ≥ 50 KV 2. Standard Method ASTM D-877 ≥ 40 KV C. Total Gas Content: 1. Standard Method ASTM D-2945 ≤ 0.25 % D. Total Water Content: 1. Standard Method ASTM D-1533 ≤ 10 PPM E. Particulate Filtration: 1. Standard Method ASTM D-6786 99% (Beta 100) of particles 0.5 µ
