ROJECT DESCRIPTION The Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Office for Facilities Support Services, on behalf of Jefferson Community & Technical College (JCTC) desires to procure site professional services (Civil Engineer and/or Landscape Architect) and an associated project team to accomplish the Construction Quadrangle and Green Space on their main campus in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. This project will be the creation of an outdoor quadrangle and green space that supports Jefferson CTC Downtown Campus and the surrounding community. The space will serve as a more user-friendly, walker-friendly, collegiate space and that will be welcoming to our students and the surrounding community to feel compelled to visit our campus and spend time there. It will also identify new circulation patterns and pathways for both vehicles and pedestrians. The project site is bounded by the Main Campus of the College, two currently under construction projects -- a new Science Building, designed by Omni Architects of Lexington, Kentucky and a new parking garage, designed by SCB Architects of Louisville, Kentucky, and Broadway Street (a main vehicular street). This project is to fill the available space between these two projects and to connect the main campus of the College to the city. A feasibility study was performed by Carman of Lexington, Kentucky in April 2023 to provide preliminary concepts of the intent of this project. However, the design of this project is to extend the vision for this space into a vibrant outdoor campus venue. The project solution will address campus drainage, security and safety issues, and emergency vehicle access while also organizing and enhancing the on-campus experience.
