The City is the recipient of an EPA assessment grant to characterize, assess, and plan clean-up activities for eligible brownfields sites within the City. This grant will evaluate target properties that have an established or suspected history of petroleum or hazardous substance contamination, where uncertainty exists due to real or perceived contamination, and where communities will benefit from assessment and clean-up planning efforts. This grant will produce ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, asbestos-containing and hazardous building materials survey reports, and clean-up planning documents for property owners within priority areas and elsewhere in the City. This grant will also fully comply with all other EPA-required documentation, including but not limited to Site Eligibility Determinations (SEDs), Site-specific Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), and Analysis of Brownfields Clean-up Alternatives (ABCAs).
