To purchase ongoing maintenance and support for their existing Kingfisher Flex 96DW, Kingfisher Apex, Quanstudio 5 and 7500 FAST Real Time PCR Systems. As a Level III National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) member, the MDA Animal Health Laboratory is required to utilize instrumentation that will allow them to meet the required standards set forth by the NAHLN, the National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL), and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in order to maintain their testing approvals. This highly specialized equipment must be maintained and calibrated by a certified service engineer. The service engineer must be certified every two years and is required to perform annual inspections of the equipment to verify that the instruments are producing accurate test results and required test standards are being met. Thermofisher Scientific is the sole source provider of the Kingfisher Flex 96DW, Kingfisher Apex, Quanstudio 5 and 7500 FAST Real Time PCR Systems and only ThermoFisher Scientific’s personnel possess the requisite product knowledge and specialized training to provide such services. Life Technologies Corporation, a part of Thermofisher Scientific is the only authorized organization to provide services for maintenance and repair of the instrumentation listed above, this includes all maintenance and repairs, system/software updates, and technical developments.
