Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Intended Single Source: Advanced Telemetry Services (ATS). ATS collars will be deployed as part of the North Florida Deer Study at Ordway-Swisher Biological Station, which began in 2020. During the project we have deployed 66 ATS collars and currently have 8 deer collared in the study area with collars originally purchased for the South Florida Deer Study and refurbished for use in the North Florida Deer Study when that study ended. In order to not jeopardize the integrity of the data, and for efficient and consistent GPS data management (including location data, mortality notifications and all user commands), it is critical that all animals within the study area are collared using the same equipment, available only from ATS. All the GPS data (existing and new collars) are uploaded to ATS’s proprietary managed Iridium website and all the data and control over the collars is securely managed by the user.
