The City is planning to retrofit all local, residential streetlights on local roads or alleys in 2024. The City is contracting with Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) for the installation of the lights and will be selfpurchasing the lights through a WisDOT approved bid process on VendorNet. The lights being replaced currently are attached to wood poles owned and maintained by MG&E and lie within the City’s right-of-way. 250 high pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights are planned to be replaced with an LED equivalent specified by the City in this manual under the products list and materials section. Each light must be provided by the supplier equipped with a control ready 7-wire photocell receptacle, bubble level, and a snap-on light trespass house side shield. The City is also requesting bids for 250 - 8000 Series photo controls as specified in the manual.
