Contractor agrees to provide to Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) bicycle maintenance and repair services in accordance with the schedule and specifications provided herein. Services shall be provided on dates and times mutually agreed upon by CHP Contract Representative and the Contractor. All requests for service will be completed within five (5) working days. The bicycle shop must be within fifteen (15) miles of CHP Marin Area office, located 53 Clemente Drive, Corte Madera, CA 94925. A. OVERHAUL (once annually) Strip bike down to frame and reassemble. Perform all work as performed in MAJOR TUNE UP to manufacturer’s specifications. 1. PARTS TO BE REPLACED: a) Brake cables b) Derailer cables c) Cables d) Brake pads (Aztec Brand, Stud Style only) or equivalent e) Bearings in headset, bottom bracket and hubs f) Any bicycle components that appear to be defective or worn 2. INSPECT AND REPLACE (if necessary): a) Cassette cogs and chain rings b) Cable housing c) Handlebar grips d) Pedals e) Shifter B. MAJOR TUNE UP (once annually, at six months after overhaul): Tune-up to be done to manufacturer’s specifications. 1. The following are to be inspected and adjusted: a) Inspect rims and spokes for damage and replace if necessary b) Adjust front and rear brakes c) Lube cables d) Inspect brake pads e) Adjust front and rear derailer, replace if necessary f) Lube derailer cables g) Adjust headset; replace if necessary h) Clean chain and replace if necessary i) Remove cassette cogs, clean and replace worn cogs or chain rings j) Adjust from and rear hub; replace if necessary
