Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Hillsborough County intends to recommend the award of a special procurement to Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc., for the estimated eight (8) month rental of a 12-disk filter system and the one-time purchase of two (2) ten 10-disk filter systems used for the expansion of the filtration capacity at the Falkenburg Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility by 3.0 million gallons per day for the Water Resource Department at a total cost of $1,259,384.00. The County will utilize the 12-disk rental filter system while the permanent units are being manufactured. The additional filtration capacity is required to serve new homes and businesses and will most likely be required by a consent order from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. This procurement is being made in accordance with Section 3-207 of the County’s Procurement Policy due to the exigent circumstance that exists making the application of competitive sealed bidding impractical, impracticable, not financially or operationally advantageous. As a result, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. is the only vendor able to provide this specific rental and purchase filter systems within the allotted time constraints.
