Iowa State University (ISU) is seeking to purchase an analog replacement line service supporting fax, credit card, voice, paging systems, and fire panels. Maintaining copper plants for analog line services has become costly and much less reliable with the aging infrastructure and its susceptibility to environmental disruptions. Transitioning to modern technologies can lead to significant savings and can offer improved resilience to such challenges. For critical services like security, fire, and life safety systems, the reliability of communication is paramount. Specialty services provide more dependable and secure options. We require a product that will continue to provide analog telephone service in the case of a network or power outage. The product should switch to an internal power source, like a battery providing at least 4 hours of service. The product should switch to an alternate network, like cellular, in the case of a network outage.
