• Remove existing coating of paint on hydrants by abrasive blasting or equivalent method and prepare surface for new coatings. • Apply one coat of Rust-Oleum Professional DRM Alkyd Enamel Primer, or equivalent, at the recommended coverage rate and mil thickness per coating. • Apply finish coat of Rust-Oleum Professional Alkyd Enamel, or equivalent, at the recommended coverage rate and mil thickness per coating. • Color must be Safety Red • Paint application must be done by spraying. • Contractor must prevent overspray from drifting and clean up worksite. • Estimate of time to complete the painting of all hydrants should be submitted with proposal response. • Daily contact reporting issues and/or progress will need to be provided to the Water Quality Foreman (contact information provided upon contract award).
