Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The FDC intends to equip its Probation Officers with the following weapons and accessories: G45/G48s, night sights, and magazines, to ensure officer and community safety. GLOCK Armorer courses are required to train officers to maintain and service the FDCs weapons. Intended Single Source: GLOCK Inc. 6000 Highlands Parkway, Smyrna, GA 30082; Currently, the FDC employs GLOCK Armorer-certified staff to service weapons carried by Probation Officers. GLOCK Professional, Inc., a subsidiary of GLOCK Inc., is the only authorized provider of GLOCK training courses. Armorer courses are required to provide instruction on the weapon's mechanical functioning, assembly/disassembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Certified Armorers ensure that the handguns warranty is maintained and that FDC staff are properly trained to handle the weapon. The FDC's Probation Officers are currently trained to carry GLOCK handguns. Purchasing from a vendor other than GLOCK would require the discontinuance of previously purchased weapons and neccesitate the retraining of Department personnel.
