Removal and replacement of carpeting with the terminal passenger area at the Portland International Jetport. The carpet has reached its useful life and is need of replacement and modernization. The design inspiration for this project is a journey through Maine’s cities and mountains. The colors and shapes in the carpet shall reflect both the hardscape of a city as well as the soft and natural elements that Maine has to offer throughout the entire state. The project will occur within an active area of the Jetport Terminal where passengers board and disembark from Aircraft. The project will require the removal and replacement of carpeting including but not limited to phasing of the work, constructing signage and barricading work areas, night work, inspections by airport operations and TSA, working around active aircraft passenger boarding and deplaning areas, moving kiosks and associated electrical work, relocating seating including electrical work and relocating all other furniture and objects within the work area to allow for carpeting removal and installation. Work also includes staging and reinstalling all kiosks, furniture, and other fixtures within the project area to their original locations and conditions and as directed by the airport. Given the complexities of the project, a General Contractor shall be required to be the prime on the contract with carpeting subcontractors and all other necessary trades working for the General Contractor.
