The Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH), CDPHPD oversees and coordinates statewide chronic disease prevention and health promotion programs to reduce the risks of chronic disease through policies, systems, and environmental changes. The CDPHPD develops comprehensive approaches to support healthy lifestyles that are tobacco-free, based on good nutrition and regular physical activity, and improve the quality and years of life for those living with chronic diseases, including asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The CDPHPD’s mission is to promote wellness and improve the quality and years of life for Hawaii’s people through effective prevention, detection, and management of chronic diseases. Educating and empowering individuals to live a healthy lifestyle is necessary to establish healthy choices as the norm for Hawaii residents. Through health promotion events and other collaborative efforts, the CDPHPD provides Hawaii residents with the information they need to make healthy choices, an everyday practice. To provide a comprehensive approach to the development and implementation of its conferences, summits, trainings, workshops, and meetings, hereinafter referred to as “events”, the CDPHPD seeks to procure event planning, coordination, and management services from a company within the State of Hawaii (STATE) to assist the CDPHPD in the planning, scheduling, conference site selection, guest speaker(s) and facilitator(s) selection, registration management, travel arrangements, and hosting of guests for the CDPHPD’s events throughout the duration of the contract.
