The project consists of major interior renovations of Sally Monserud Hall (SMH) on the campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Major components of work include replacing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Exterior work includes the complete replacement of the existing inverted membrane roof assembly with an EPDM membrane over sloped insulation. The new roof has improved materials and insulation (average R-Value of 40). New exterior windows will be installed in existing offices. The existing SMH is a single-story structure with basement and includes a combination of general classrooms, medical training laboratories, and office spaces. The existing SMH is protected by NFPA 13 automatic sprinkler system. Renovations will provide medical simulation laboratories and modernized MEP systems for the College of Health. Existing fire protection systems will be modified to fit the new space. There is no change to occupancy group, construction type, or level of protection for the existing facility.
