MOWING & TRIMMING - The grass shall be mowed as scheduled and approved by the City. In general, the grass shall be mowed when it exceeds 5 inches in height and shall be mowed to a height of 3 to 3 1/2 inches. Generally, mowing shall commence by April 15. Generally, mowing shall end by October 31. These dates are subject to change at the sole discretion of the CM. The maximum number of mows cannot exceed 24 in any calendar year. Therefore, mowing in the months of July and August will occur every ten days or bi-weekly and shall not exceed 6 times for the two months. Mowers will have turf-type tires. Mower blades will be the “Gator” type to maximize the mulching effect and will be sharp at the beginning of all scheduled mows. The CM or his agent may request an inspection of mower blades at any time. All kick-out doors of the mowers shall face away from landscape beds and streets. For instances where either is unavoidable, the chute will be pointed towards the street, and the street will be blown off in a way to avoid grass clippings from being blown into the landscape beds. Side discharge mowers are preferable for their mulching effect of leaves in the fall.
