1. Assessment a. Conduct a site assessment to evaluate the current condition of the lighting system and associated infrastructure. b. Obtain necessary permits and approvals before commencing work. 2. Removal of Existing Equipment a. Safely remove and dispose of the existing damaged lighting fixtures, conduits, junction boxes, and related equipment. b. Document the condition of all removed items for record-keeping. 3. Replacement of Electrical Infrastructure a. Conduits, Junction Boxes and New Distribution Panel: i. Replace deteriorated conduits with PVC (Schedule 40 and Schedule 80) for all exposed areas. ii. Use GRC for branch circuits as needed. iii. Repair or replace damaged junction boxes to ensure safe and effective electrical connections. iv. Supply and install a new distribution panel, including all necessary breakers and grounding components. b. Lighting Installation: i. Supply and install new Musco lights, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for optimal illumination. ii. Install two new concrete poles with brackets specifically designed to support the new lights. 4. Time Clock Installation a. Supply and install a new time clocks to automate the operation of the lighting system for enhanced energy efficiency and functionality. 5. Grounding and Compliance a. Ensure all new installations comply with local electrical codes and safety standards. b. Perform grounding of all new equipment and structures to prevent electrical hazards. 6. Testing a. Conduct thorough testing of the new lighting system to ensure proper functionality. b. Commission the system to confirm all components work together seamlessly. 7. Maintenance of Traffic certification (MOT): a. Contractor shall be responsible to ensure the appropriate personnel have the proper training and/or certification for the permitting, installation, removal, and operation of temporary traffic control devices and flagging. b. Appropriate barricades and MOT signage shall be used while working. Areas shall be marked off and signs posted indicating areas closed to pedestrian traffic. Signs should indicated that people are working. No facility's operations shall be interrupted by the parties affected to hours without interference. All equipment, apparatus or rope coils on the ground shall also be marked off with cones and signs warning pedestrian and/or traffic, Contractor shall provide all safety signs and cones. c. Approved Maintenance of Traffic (MOT must be used as needed and approved by the government agency with jurisdiction, such as Broward County, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Department of Public Works. If the government entity is other than the City, Contractor shall provide the City with a copy of the approved MOT prior to beginning work. 8. Site Restoration a. Remove all debris and unused materials from the site. b. Restore the site to its original condition or better, ensuring no hazards are left behind.
