This work consists of Janitorial Services for the Pocomoke Information Center/Rest Area located on US 13 in Worcester County. The contract shall not exceed 90 days in time as a larger procurement is in process for this same service, if that contract is awarded, this contract may be terminated at the administration’s sole discretion and a prorated amount paid to the contractor up to the termination date. The Contractor shall clean and maintain rest rooms and the outside walk and parking areas of the Pocomoke Information Center and Rest Area on the north bound lane of US 13 near the Virginia Line in Worcester County, Maryland. The rest rooms facilities are located in the Information Center and will be open 12 hours a day, 365 or 366 days a year. The Information Center inside hours are from Memorial Day to Labor Day 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM; from Labor Day to Memorial Day 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During the operational hours of the Information Center, the Contractor’s supervisor will receive any necessary directions from the Information Center Supervisor; after the Information Center is closed for the day they may receive their direction from the Administration. • Completely clean all fixtures, mirrors, walls and floors as needed in the rest rooms • All materials shall be purchased from BISM • Fill all soap dispensers • Keep the rest rooms paper supplies full at all times • Empty all trash containers as needed & at the end of each shift throughout the Center and grounds. Wash trash cans every other week from May to October. • Clean the glass on all the entrance doors and to the Information Center as necessary • Vacuum the floor inside the Information Center when requested • Change light bulbs as needed; including inside the Information Center as requested • Sweep or mechanically blow off debris from all walkways • Clean picnic tables and concrete pads they are placed on. • Report and repair problems, and report them to the Engineer and/or Information Center Supervisor • All employees shall be courteous and respectful to all visitors and staff at all times • One half hour break is permitted for each shift, but only one (1) person at a time • Offensive language will not be tolerated any time and will be cause for removal • Uniforms provided by the Contractor shall be worn by all contract employees • Identification name tags shall be worn by contract employees at all times • If you are going to be late for your shift, you shall notify your supervisor and the Information Center Supervisor (410-957-2484) 15 minutes prior to your scheduled shift
