The DEPARTMENT’s Information Technology (IT) Division aims to expand its expertise and management of projects via Agile Scrum. Over the past four (4) years, we have seen significant turnover, and new staff has not been given the chance for scrum and product owner training. In addition, our current certified product owners and scrum masters have taken on lead roles and are requesting more advanced techniques as product owners and scrum masters. Our plan is that this Agile Scrum and Product Owner training is required for all DEPARTMENT staff working on projects, as it addresses critical needs in the organization. Currently, the DEPARTMENT is managing Agile vendor-led projects that specifically require Certified Product Owners. Additionally, the DEPARTMENT’s internal Product/Project Management Office mandates Product Owner training for approved projects to secure stakeholder buy-in and to equip teams with the necessary skills to excel in the Scrum environment. Our goal is to equip all DEPARTMENT employees with faster decision-making habits and enhance their ability to focus on customers and their rapidly changing needs. We need a partner who can assist us in implementing a more Agile leadership approach that fosters innovation and flexibility and empowers teams, ultimately helping us fulfill our purpose to serve all Nevadans.
