The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking competitive bids to fill a need for Above Ground Fuel Tanks with Secondary Containment. The fuel tanks will be for various locations in the State of Kansas. 4.1 Contract Period: Date of Award through December 31, 2029. 4.2. Specifications: The following specifications shall apply to purchases of turnkey Above Ground Fuel Storage Tanks for the Kansas Department of Transportation. 4.2.1. Complete drawings, specifications, and literature on the unit bid shall accompany a completed copy of this specification as part of the bid package. Any exceptions to these specifications shall be indicated on the bid or on a separate attachment to the bid, labeled as such. 4.2.2. All "or equal" or "equivalent" items for brand-specified components shall be listed in the bid package. Complete description and literature on the "or equal" components shall be supplied for consideration by KDOT. The burden of proof regarding "or equal" items will be upon the vendor. 4.3. Pre-Delivery Service: The unit shall be completely assembled and shipped with vacuum on tank interstice. All tanks opening shall be properly plugged for shipping. A minimum of three business days’ notice prior to delivery shall be given to the person to whom the unit is to be shipped. 4.4. Paint: Tank shall have at least two coats of paint, prime and finish, with finish tank color white. All painted surfaces to be freshly blasted to white metal before priming. All tanks shall be marked for fuel type (diesel, gasoline, etc.) as specified to comply with NFPA and local fire codes (NFPA 704 diamond marking and/or contents name acceptable). 4.5. Indefinite Quantity Contract: This is an open-ended contract between the Contractor and the State to furnish an undetermined quantity of a good or service in a given period of time. The quantities ordered will be those actually required during the contract period, and the Contractor will deliver only such quantities as may be ordered. No guarantee of volume is made. An estimated quantity based on past history or other means may be used as a guide.
