MoDOT is interested in receiving bids from qualified contractors to demolish an existing weigh scale building, septic tank, scale, inspection station, curbing and miscellaneous items throughout Harrisonville Northbound Weigh Scale Site located on I-49, mile marker 158. Interested parties will be responsible for: •Removing the building two feet below finished grade and disposing of said structure/materials in a proper manner (landfill or salvaging the material). •Scale – Once contractor removes the concrete pads and grates, MoDOT will allow the contractor to use crushed concrete, free of metal/steel, and less than 12” in diameter, along with a 6-inch cap of 1” minus to match surrounding grades to fill the scale’s void. OR MoDOT will allow the contractor to remove steel grates and fill the void beneath the scale concrete pads with flowable concrete fill. •Curbing and ramps may be cut or made flush with existing horizontal pavements. (There shall be no exposed rebar) •All curbing shall be removed and disposed of offsite except those portions used as fill where scale is to be removed. •All fill shall free of vegetation and organic matter. •Contractor shall repair potholes throughout the graved/slurry sealed portion of the lot by filling with 1” minus rock. •Site Utilities: •Contractor is responsible for contracting dig-rite. •Septic tank has been pumped out and demoed. •Electrical has been disconnected and removed from building. •Waterline has been disconnected and rerouted around the southern side of the weigh scale. •Propane tanks have been removed. •MoDOT / Highway Patrol will remove any item they intend to keep prior to contractor starting the demolition.
