To install steel bollards with protective covers at various library locations per the project requirements provided below: a. Bollards installation. a. Use a broom or pressure washer to clean the concrete surface prior to pipe bollard installation. b. Use a diamond-bit core drill to remove the concrete surface until reach sandy layer. Chiseling and hammering will not be acceptable. c. Install bollard vertical & plum level. d. Fill the hole to the top with concrete until it is level with the sub-surface grade. e. Patch the surface around the pipe bollard to make it smooth & flush with the existing surface. Finish and score the concrete, if necessary, to match existing surface pattern. Clean all concrete off & away from steel pipe. f. Create a flat concrete surface at the top of the pipe bollard. Select a mounting method for the bollard cover and refer to the appropriate anchoring & installation method for specific directions. Install covers per manufacturer’s installation instructions. b. Install bollards at various locations as shown in the floor plans provided in Exhibits “1”, and install bollards per detail drawing in Exhibit “2”. c. Each steel bollard is to include a protective bollard cover. Refer to Exhibit “3” for design intent. The Exhibits show the approximate bollard locations, types of cover, and spacing required. The final location will be marked by the Contractor prior to approval by the Palm Beach County representative. County shall approve bollard cover color in advance of ordering. d. New bollards shall continue to meet or exceed the minimum accessibility route requirements as prescribed by ADA, the Florida Building Code and jurisdiction having authority.
