Roadway Design and geotechnical team shall analyze and study the corridor to provide recommendations for the reconstruction and upgrading of the 18 mile, 2 lane roadway (12’ lanes with shoulders). The design speed should be 55mph. Specifically, the study shall identify all issues present in the corridor and recommend design and construction alternatives. Known issues include but are not limited to the presence of muck, proximity to canals, and hauling traffic. The project will be divided into phases. For the initial phase, each geotech team member will work independently of each other to provide a unique set of recommendations for each phase to the Prime. The Prime will then take the initial recommendations and work with all three geotech firms to compile the findings into a single report with ranked recommendations/alternates. A “no-build” alternate shall be included in the final report. Subsequent phases will be assigned following completion of initial phase.
