Western State Hospital//Western State Nursing Facility Nutrition standards shall be in compliance with 7 CFR 210.10 and 220.8, 42 CFR 482.28 and 42 CFR 483.60. The facilities operate under a twenty-one (21) day rotating Fall/ Winter, Spring/Summer menu cycle. The facilities also require special diets based on patient needs. Upon request with advance notice, multiple menu offerings may be required during special functions on a specific day or week for a limited number of group patients. These requests for specific breakfast, lunch or dinner meals shall be provided in addition to the standard menu at the same unit price. The contractor shall provide, all the resources necessary to provide, three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner), seven days per week for residents in three facilities. The contractor shall also provide three snacks per day. The cost shall be included with each meal. Approximately 22,140 meals per month are served for patients in WSH and residents in WSNF. The approximate monthly patient breakdown per meal is as follows: Breakfast 738, Lunch 738, Dinner 738. The estimated daily census currently at WSH is 149 and residents at WSNF is 97. Meals are served in a combination of both the dining room as well as in, patient, resident’s rooms with times listed below. The contractor shall also provide meals and/or snacks for residents that are temporarily discharged for the day or those who are going on overnight bus trips. Unit costs bid shall be all inclusive.
