Contractor shall operate a domestic violence shelter-based program (DVSBP) for victims of domestic violence and their families. Services shall be provided by a qualified DVSBP provider, as defined in California Welfare and Institutions Code (W&IC) 18290 et al and shall be provided in accordance with the Domestic Violence Shelter-Based Programs Act (W&IC 18290-18309.8). Services include 24-hour seven-days a week emergency shelter, operating a 24-hour phone line for referrals and resources, food facilities, critical transportation asfeasible, psychologicalsupport and peer counseling, referralsto existing community resources, community education & outreach, drop-in center, and arrangements for school aged children to continue their education while they are at the shelter.
