The New Haven Department of Community Resilience, Office of Housing and Homeless Services (OHHS) requests proposals from qualified organizations to develop new units of supportive housing. The use of funding is limited to projects that will benefit individuals or families transitioning out of homelessness and in need of supportive housing. Proposals must result in new supportive housing units. Funds can be used for either site acquisition, hard costs associated with the new construction, or the adaptive reuse of a non-residential property to affordable integrated supportive housing with on-site social services. Alternatively, applicants can propose to purchase existing multi-family properties to convert them into supportive housing units. Each apartment or unit will have kitchen facilities or access to kitchen facilities, bathroom, and storage for tenant clothing and personal items.
