1. Obtain all permits as required by the City of Somerville Department of Inspectional Services, including hot-work permit if needed. 2. Shut down both Liebert units and recover all R-22 refrigerant. R-22 will be transferred into Contractor-provided 30-pound recovery cylinders and left in place for reuse by the City. 3. Disconnect electrical and make safe. 4. Dismantle and remove Liebert A/C units consisting of 2 each: a. Condensers b. Evaporators c. Line sets and piping 5. Furnish and install one heat pump system consisting of: a. One (1) exterior condensing unit b. One (1) interior 0.5 ton unit including a remote control, condensate pump, and discharge hose to building exterior c. One (1) interior 2.5 ton unit including a remote control, condensate pump, and discharge hose to building exterior d. New line sets e. Additional refrigerant (if needed due to line set length or loss during installation) f. New electrical service-disconnect equipment, including new properly sized circuit breaker, if existing equipment is not reusable and/or if the circuit breaker is improperly sized for the new heat pump system 6. Properly seal wall core openings around line sets and electrical. a. No new wall coring will be required. Two (2) existing wall-cores will be reused for installation of new piping, line sets, electrical, and drain lines. b. The Contractor will validate and acknowledge in their bid that existing cores are properly sized for the new heat pump system. 7. Properly dispose of the Liebert units and all other demolition and installation materials/refuse off site. 8. The Contractor will not be responsible for patching the floor in the existing location of the Liebert units. 9. Startup and test new units for proper operation. 10. One year warranty on parts and labor.
