The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to contract with a selected provider for Functional Family Therapy (FFT). FFT is a clinical evidenced based, weekly, short-term family intervention with an average of 12 to 16 in-home sessions over three to four months, based on the risk and needs of the family. The FFT provider works with juveniles ages 11 to 18, and their families, who are referred for behavioral or emotional problems by the Juvenile Probation Department. FFT is a strength-based model built on a foundation of acceptance and respect for all family members’ culture, values and ethnicity. FFT utilizes assessments and interventions to address the youth and family risk and protective factors within and outside of the family, which influence the youth’s adaptive development. FFT is a 5-phase model – Engagement, Motivation, Relational Assessments, Behavior Change, and Generalization phases. Each phase has a specific set of goals, skills, and focus to be completed, before transitioning to the next phase.
