4.1 Phase 1: Design and Pre-installation Phase. 4.1.1. Design new draperies for Territorial Hall. The Contractor shall design the new draperies for Territorial Hall per requirements and specifications below. The design phase shall include all site visits, surveys, and layout of work. All final designs must be approved by the University Authorized Representative before the installation phase. As part of your proposal, you must submit specifications sheets of the draperies fabric you intend to use for this Project as well as drapery samples of your proposed design. (See Attachment A: Project Schedule and Work Plan, Part 3). 4.1.1.1 Minimum Requirements/ Specifications for the new drapery fabric. The new proposed drapery fabric must meet or exceed the following requirements and specifications: 4.1.1.1.1 Distributor: Coral (or equivalent). 4.1.1.1.2 Pattern: Ramapo (or equivalent). 4.1.1.1.3 Color: Ivory. 4.1.1.1.4 Content: 100 % FR Polyester. 4.1.1.1.5 Flammability: Inherently Flame Retardant/ passes NFPA701 Large and Small. 4.1.1.1.6 Cleaning: washable. 4.1.1.1.7 Backing: none 4.1.1.2 Minimum Requirements/Specifications for drapery fabrication. The drapery fabrication must meet or exceed the following requirements and specifications: 4.1.1.2.1 Pinch-pleated, tacked at bottom and between folds at top of each pleat. 4.1.1.2.2 Unlined. 4.1.1.2.3 100% fullness (2 ½” x width). 4.1.1.2.4 3 ½” double bottom hems. 4.1.1.2.5 1 ½” double side hems. 4.1.1.2.6 3 ½” double top over medium weight non-woven heat sealable buckram. 4.1.1.2.7 Polyester/cotton blend thread (monofilament not acceptable). 4.1.1.2.8 Side hems and bottom hems to be blind stitched. 4.1.1.2.9 Plastic covered weight at corners. 4.1.1.2.10 Hook setting- from the top ¼” down 4.1.1.2 Removal and disposal/recycling of existing draperies. Contractor shall carefully and safely remove the existing draperies and properly dispose of it. Contractor shall prep the area for the appropriate installation of the new draperies. 4.2 Phase 2: Installation Phase. 4.2.1. Install the new draperies in Territorial Hall per the agreed upon design, project schedule, and workplan. 4.2.1.1 Once notified that the project site is ready and available, Contractor will coordinate with their designated personnel for an effective mobilization of the Project. 4.2.1.2 Upon commencement of Work at the site, the Contractor shall assume management of the site. Sites shall be maintained in a safe and neat fashion. Site management shall be coordinated with the Contractor’s Site Supervisor. 4.2.1.3 All employees of the Contractor(s) shall conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Personnel deemed unacceptable by the University shall be replaced immediately. 4.2.1.3 The Contractor shall be responsible to protect existing structures, sidewalks, driveways, lawns and other improvements on or adjacent to the site from damage by any operation in connection with the Contract. 4.2.1.4 Contractor’s Work will not disturb the normal use or occupancy of the buildings outside of the Work area. Buildings, sidewalks, and drives shall be kept clear and free of Contractor’s equipment, material, and debris. 4.2.1.5 Removal and Cleanup. The Contractor shall keep the premises and surrounding area free from accumulation of waste materials or rubbish caused by operations under the Contract. Upon completion of the work, the Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of waste materials, rubbish, the Contractor’s tools, equipment, machinery, and surplus materials from and about the project premises and surrounding area daily. The cost of cleanup performed by the University as a result of the Contractor’s failure to provide the cleanup required by this solicitation shall be deducted at the actual cost to the University from the Purchase Order. 4.2.1.5 The Project will be completed in a satisfactory and professional manner as approved by the University Authorized Representative and in accordance with safety policies and procedures noted herein. Workmanship shall be of good quality and free of defects. Work shall be performed by competent, qualified personnel in the required trade. Incompetent, careless, or poorly executed work will be rejected and must be replaced or repaired at no expense to the University. All material and workmanship shall carry a minimum one (1) year warranty from date of acceptance. 4.3 Post Installation Contract Requirements. The following requirements must be fulfilled before the Project will be considered complete. 4.3.1 Maintenance, Training, and Orientation. Contractor must give adequate training regarding the newly installed draperies including recommendations for how university staff can maintain the draperies and hardware including cleaning recommendations and/or tools/equipment needed for such maintenance before the purchase will be considered complete.
