bird monitoring at several sites across Massachusetts during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. This monitoring is associated with restoration and habitat management practices, and will be focused on grassland, shrubland and woodland settings that have either experienced management, or are slated to experience management. Year one will focus on conducting meander surveys twice at three grassland sites, and establishing/monitoring point count stations (three visits) at one pre-restoration site. Year one will also require the vendor to purchase monitoring equipment for MassWildlife. Year two will focus on establishing/monitoring point counts at six restoration sites in Central Massachusetts. At the point count sites, the vendor will work with MassWildlife staff to determine the most effective locations for the establishment of point count stations, and then survey the sites three times per year using the point count standards established by Ralph et al.
