III. SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS The purpose of this solicitation is to acquire bids from qualified sources to furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to remove existing boiler and replace with new boiler according to scope of specifications at University of South Carolina Aiken Housing Pacer Crossings. USC Aiken University Housing Pacer Commons Boiler Replacement Specifications 1. Removal of existing, non-functioning boiler from Pacer Commons, including the disposal of the existing unit. 2. Cleaning of installation area, in preparation of new unit. 3. Installation of new boiler unit into Pacer Commons, including connection of unit into existing gas and water system. a. Including the provision of all labor, equipment, and materials to successfully complete the installation of the boiler. b. Unload and place boiler on house-keeping pad that is provided. c. Interconnect piping from hot water supply and return; tie in natural gas from the source to the boiler, reusing as much of the existing piping as possible. d. Provide new emissions stack from the source on the boiler to the 14” existing stack. Reusing existing stack termination. e. Connect electrical service to the appropriately sized quick disconnect. Boiler to make use of the existing electrical tie-in. f. Commission combustion curve and tune up unit and place in operation. g. Test new unit to ensure that it is functioning within manufacturer’s specifications and providing hot water to Pacer Commons. h. Provide onsite training to USC Aiken Housing Maintenance staff. i. Training to include all safety procedures, maintenance procedures and control operations. ii. Training must be coordinated with both the engineer and owner. Training to be provided in a single 8-hour continuous session
