Work to include but not limited to the placement of a new gravel road and installation of a 2” waterline. Work will consist of site preparation to include removal of trees, stumps, vegetation, grubbing, and debris. Remove existing soil to achieve the required subgrade elevation, ensuring proper drainage and stability, properly dispose of any unsuitable material removed from the site. Import 308 yards of fill dirt to meet engineer’s specified clean fill criteria (no contaminants, minimal organic matter). Nevada County will contract with NV-5 and contractor will be responsible to schedule pre-inspection, material testing and compaction tests through NV-5. Compaction testing will be done in lifts acceptable to NV-5 to ensure compliance with density specifications, compact final road rock to ensure stability. Culvert, drainage and rip rap/rock to be installed as per plan speciation’s. Maintain records of all compaction tests, import logs for fill material, and construction activities. Waterline will require one (1) 2” water meter, three (3) ¾” hose bibs and one (1) 1.5” hose bib, three (3) traffic rated boxes, sand bed, sand cover and tracer wire/tape installed as per plan, compaction tests will be required at all road crossings. Contractor will be responsible for water at this site. Contractor will remove all excess materials, debris and equipment from site. Contractor will be responsible to schedule all inspections through NV-5 and the City of Grass Valley. Equipment required: dump truck, full size backhoe/excavator, mid-size dozer, full size vibratory sheepsfoot compactor, skid steer, Wacker, water truck, grader (optional).
