The contractor will modify the oversized glass window to accommodate the air conditioning unit. 2. An insulated panel will be fabricated and installed in the window opening surrounding the air conditioning unit to ensure proper insulation. 3. All seams and joints will be sealed with silicone to ensure an airtight installation. 4. The installation and the sealing of all seams will be subject to inspection and approval by the Facility Manager. 5. The contractor will prefabricate (if possible) and install 15 (fifteen) new pieces of Custom Kynar Color Medium Bronze Smooth Insulated Panel (or equivalent to be approved by the Facility Manager) to replace the modified glass. All fabrication should be completed before the installation date. 6. Each classroom may have slightly different dimensions. The contractor can schedule visits to Robert E. Melican Middle School to finalize measurements between 6 AM - 9 AM or 3:45 PM - 9 PM. 7. The contractor will secure the air conditioner and panel with aluminum flat stock and green DOW 795 structural silicone (or equivalent to be approved by the Facility Manager) to provide a permanent seal to prevent penetration. 8. The contractor will clean each classroom upon completion of installation, and the Facility Manager will inspect it. 9. The contractor will supply twenty-six (26) new air conditioning units that can be plugged into a 120-volt outlet. All units shall be rated at 15,000 BTU. Each air conditioning unit should have relative humidity sensors and controls to improve the ability to control environmental conditions and maximize energy efficiency.
