Behavioral Health and Resiliency Course A. Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, and fees needed to prepare the presentation, and course plan of 12 separate, one (1) to two (2) (1–2)-hour behavioral health didactic lectures to up to 50 Firefighter Academy students per class at the CAL FIRE Training Center. These presentations will be delivered throughout a training calendar year. This presentation must meet the minimum standards for the 2020 California State Fire Training course: Behavioral Health. B. Instructor shall have the ability to provide yoga/mindfulness sessions during lecture presentations. C. Instructor shall have a historic background in delivering this type of training to fire service personnel and be culturally competent to CAL FIRE’s mission, vision, and values referenced in 2020 California State Fire Training course: Behavioral Health. D. Instructor shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience and shall provide proof of experience with resume. E. Instructor shall also have a minimum of a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) or Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification. F. Instructor must be familiar with current cultural behavioral health issues pertaining to first responders such as Firefighters experiencing post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI) symptoms and behaviors. Train the Trainer Course A. Instructor/presenter shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, and permits, and shall have the ability and course plan to provide one (1) Yoga Train the Trainer course per year for up to 16 students per course. B. Each course shall be a three (3) day and totaling up to a twenty-four (24) hour course. C. Deliver a functional movement-based wellness course. D. Utilize tactical breathing exercises to de-escalate stress and anxiety. E. Incorporate mindfulness strategies to increase situational awareness while navigating the day-to-day stressors of the job.
