Work under this contract consists of sealing cracks from edge of pavement to edge of pavement and to the back of radius on side roads, mill & inlay areas, restriping, and RPM installation in Lamar County on SR 36 from MP 7.197 – 19.203. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, means of transportation, traffic control and incidentals necessary to perform work. This contract shall be bid per line item. This work includes cleaning, removing dirt, grass, and other debris from cracks and asphalt joints within the project limits, and filling with a polymer/ modified asphalt rubber. All travel lanes, turn lanes, and gore areas within the limits, from edge of pavement to edge of pavement, shall be crack sealed. It is the contractors responsibility to visit the site to gather information for bidding purposes. The crack seal for this project will be paid Lump Sum. Material used for Crack Sealing shall be on QPL 92. Contractor shall mill & inlay 2 inches of 12.5 MM SMA, GP 1 or 2 Incl Polymer-Modified Bitum Matl & H Lime. Contractor shall leave the striping and rumble strips in the mill & inlay areas. Milling shall be hauled to the Lamar County maintenance headquarters at: Contact Josh Miller 5 days before starting the mill and inlay at (678) 332-8966. All existing mainline traffic striping shall be restriped with High Build striping as per section 652 upon completion of the crack seal operation. Striping to be restriped will include skip lines and lane lines. New RPMs shall be installed as per specification 654, and Construction Standard and Detail T15A and T15C after the removal of existing RPM’s. Any temporary striping needed for this project shall be included in the cost of traffic control. Work shall be performed between the hours of 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM or at Night from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Work times may be altered at the Engineers discretion due to traffic volume and school zones. The Contractor shall notify the Thomaston District Office at 706-646-7661, forty-eight hours prior to beginning work and shall coordinate with other construction or utility companies working in the area. The Contractor shall notify the Inspector of any changes in the work schedule. 48-hour notice is preferred. Contractor shall correspond with the Inspector on all aspects of the project until final acceptance. The contractor shall be responsible for locating (or have located) any utilities (such as water, gas, telephone, power) if required. Contractor shall follow the State of Georgia Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems and Supplemental Specifications, the Special Provisions, and any applicable Construction Standards and Details. Contractor shall have a Certified Traffic Control Supervisor on site any time work is being performed. Contractor shall maintain clean work areas and shall be responsible for the removal of any debris caused by the contractor or any sub-contractors. Any necessary licenses or permits required for the disposal of the material shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The disposal of this material shall follow all local, state, and federal laws. Contractor shall grade and permanently grass any disturbed areas along the Right of Way that is created while performing work on the project.
