A. Contractor must inspect the facility and verify the list of equipment to be serviced and maintained according to the specifications. Within 30 days of first quarterly maintenance, Contractor shall provide to the CHP Facility Coordinator an updated list of all serviceable equipment. The list may include Brand, Make, Model No., Serial No., and any other information needed for the identification of equipment to be serviced and/or requested by the Facility Coordinator. B. CHP reserves the right to add equipment similar to the list established at the commencement of this contract and delete equipment that has become obsolete. Contractor will be notified in writing if the equipment has been added and/or removed from the list. CHP reserves the right to correct any deviations in the Make, Model, and/or Serial numbers without amending the agreement. C. Routine service to be performed quarterly. Contractor shall notify the Area Office Coordinator of the date and time the service is to be performed one (1) week prior to the actual work. D. Contractor shall sign-in/out with the Area Office Coordinator upon each service call to provide verification the service has been provided. E. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service locations. Any damage caused by Contractor to state equipment, materials, or other priority shall be repaired or replaced by Contractor to the satisfaction of the state at no cost to the state. The state may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof. F. Contractor shall take measures to see that all materials left as a result of the work shall be removed from the service site. All replaced parts shall be verified prior to removal by CHP Area Office Coordinator. G. The expense of repair necessitated by fire, water, or accident shall not be the obligation of Contractor. H. Contractor shall document engine run hours in logbook. I. There is no compensation for travel and/or fuel costs or truck charges. J. Start of Contract Service includes both service and material for the following: 1) Perform coolant flush includes: a. new coolant b. belts c. hoses d. thermostats e. radiator cap 2) Replace battery (write replacement date on battery(s)) 3) Perform complete tune-up on engine to include replacing spark plugs, changing the oil and all filters (i.e., coolant, air, fuel and oil). Sample the anti-freeze coolant in the engine and supply a report. Blow out the generator/alternator with dry nitrogen. Check the controller and all engine safeties. Clean and adjust the voltage relays. Lubricate the transfer switch mechanism with dry lubricant made for electrical devices. 4) Provide resistive load bank service annually and prearrange time of load bank service with the CHP on-site contact. This should be a typical two-hour testing process to be done. 5) The first service will also include all items listed under 6., below. 6. First and Consecutive Services shall include the following: a. Service the battery and record the levels. b. Check the oil level. c. Check the water and anti-freeze levels. d. Check belt tension. e. Drain the sediment off the fuel filters and day tank. f. Check the battery charger. g. Test run systems under building load. h. Check for leaks, make a visual inspection, and make minor adjustments if necessary. i. Touch-up paint (if necessary) to prevent equipment from rusting. 7. 480 Hour Annual Service shall include the following: a. Adjust the valves. b. Check the four (4) injectors and adjust timing and rack. c. Perform a complete tune-up on the engine. 8. Load Bank Annual Service shall include the following: a. Provide resistive load bank service at the beginning of each contract year or at a time of mutual agreement with the CHP on-site contact. This should be a typical two-hour process to be done on an annual basis. 9. Guarantee: The Contractor will guarantee all services performed by Contractor or Contractor service technicians, including any replaced parts, for a minimum of 90 days from the date of service performance. If it is determined that failure has occurred due to defective parts or workmanship. Contractor shall correct the failure at no additional expense to the State. Correction shall occur during normal State business hours upon request for service by the CHP representative.
