The Town of Brookline (the Town) invites Proposals for engagement, planning, and design services pertaining to the potential redevelopment of the Town-owned Centre Street Parking Lots (the Site). The Request for Proposals (RFP) concerns two abutting municipally-owned parking lots—Centre Street Lot East and Centre Street Lot West—with a total combined area of 108,224 square feet or 2.48 acres, and which currently contain 198 public parking spaces that are utilized primarily by visitors to businesses and other organizations in Coolidge Corner, Brookline’s most active commercial area. Whether and how the Site should be used into the future for vehicular parking, as well as for other combinations of publicly beneficial uses (e.g. affordable housing, community gathering and event space), is the focus of this Exploratory Study.
