Snow Removal Services are required throughout the State of Illinois by agencies that do not employ staff to provide them. These facilities are visited daily by many persons conducting business with the State and the appearance and public perception of the agency is associated with the condition of the agency’s grounds. The need for these services is also required by the State’s need to maintain the facilities it owns or leases to guard investment in those operating facilities. SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES REQUIRED: Snow removal shall commence when the local snow accumulation reaches two (2) inches or upon Facility Managers request. Snow plowing shall be accomplished by the Vendor to maintain safe passage for access into buildings, parking areas, roadways, approaches, vehicular courts, ramps, etc., as needed. De-icing shall commence as necessary to maintain a safe passage on all paved roadways, parking areas, driveways, ramps, etc. Environmentally friendly de-icing products that will not damage concrete entrances, walkways and steps, shall be used to prevent ice buildups. All chemicals used shall, at a minimum, comply with State of Illinois environmental regulations and local codes. Snow shall be piled in the most remote area of lot or stockpiled only in those areas approved by the CMS Facility Manager or designee. Some locations may require that snow be removed from the premises the same day. Snow shall be pushed off roads, parking areas, walkways, ramps, etc. without blocking traffic, parking spaces, pedestrian thoroughfares or impeding the visibility of vehicular operators, pedestrians, tenant agency operations or creating a safety hazard.
