PRIMARY STANDARD OF OPERATION All training; certification; operations; safety; medical guidelines; best practices; procedures; equipment uses, and selection shall be in accordance with the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI); “International Consensus Standards For Commercial Diving And Underwater Operations” 6.4 Edition, 2020. The table of contents for the ADCI “International Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations, 6.4 Edition” is included as an attachment and incorporated into these specifications as the primary standard for all underwater work. SAFETY Safety is the paramount consideration for all work covered in these specifications. Safety is the sole responsibility of the Contractor. Each Contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and supervising all safety precautions and programs in connection with his work. If multiple contractors are working concurrently, the safety programs of each shall be shared, reviewed and combined into an agreed upon single governing program. Each Contractor shall be responsible for the safety of his personnel. The Contractor shall provide and enforce the use at all time of the personal protective equipment specified in U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, ADCI International Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations 6.4 Edition; and all applicable State and local laws. The Contractor shall take immediate action to correct unsafe practices or conditions when discovered. The Contractor’s superintendent or safety supervisor shall insure that adequate first aid supplies are available, and the personnel are qualified to administer first aid as required by State and/or Federal regulations. The Contractor’s superintendent or safety supervisor shall insure that all accidents or injuries are reported on a timely basis and in accordance with State regulations.
