All work is expected to be performed in a high quality and professional manner. Areas to be serviced include: Entrances/Vestibules Lobby Gerald C. Turry Village Board Room General Offices Private Offices Conference Rooms Hallways Break Areas/Lunchrooms Detention Garage Stairways Private and Public Restrooms Display Cases Locker Rooms and Jail Cells Communication and Records Areas Cleaning Standards and Workmanship Expectations All floors and carpets must meet a high standard of cleanliness and appearance. A floor or carpet is deemed satisfactory when it is free of dust, streaks, marks, or dirt, particularly in corners, behind doors, and under furniture. • Floor Cleaning: Appropriate vacuuming equipment and/or treated dust mops must be used regularly to ensure floors are consistently clean and dust-free. • Wet Mopping: Floors must be wet mopped to a standard that leaves no streaks, smears, or dried dirt or salt residue. Mopped floors should present a clean, polished appearance. Safe, all-purpose detergents are required for use on all resilient flooring surfaces to maintain safety and prevent damage. Mops must remain in good condition and appropriately replaced when dirty or in disrepair. Kitchen Area Maintenance (Excluding Fire Department) All kitchen areas, excluding the Fire Department, are to be maintained to a standard of cleanliness comparable to that of a restaurant. This ensures a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation and consumption. Kitchen areas include the Community Center Kitchen, Village Hall Break Room, Police Department Break Room, and the Public Works Break Room area. • Daily Disinfection of Hard Surfaces: All hard surfaces, including countertops, tables, and other preparation areas, must be disinfected and thoroughly cleaned each day to prevent contamination and maintain a high level of cleanliness. Walls around garbage cans is to be spot cleaned daily and scrubbed weekly. Gerald C. Turry Village Board Room and Council Conference Room The Gerald C. Turry Village Board Room must be thoroughly cleaned and consistently maintained to be ready for public meetings. Specific requirements include: • The dais must be wiped down thoroughly each night. • Carpets should be vacuumed thoroughly every night, except near the AV closet. No vacuuming should occur near the AV closet, and this corner of the room is not to be maintained under the custodial contract. • Public meeting chairs should be wiped down weekly. The Council Conference Room, where food is often present, must also be thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed to ensure a sanitary environment.
