The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) needs to purchase Channel Catfish (Ictalurus punctatus), for the Region 3 Fishing in the City program, Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. Unless otherwise noted, the desired weight per fish should be 2.25 pounds (1021 grams) each. However, the Contractor may plant fish which average 2.25 pounds per fish; the lightest fish must weigh no less than 1.50 pounds (681 grams) and the heaviest fish must weigh no more than 2.50 pounds (1135 grams). Fish shall have minimum mutilation, malformation, or fin loss (less than 30%); all fish shall be in condition for release into State waters. CDFW’s determination of mutilation or malformation shall be conclusive. Fish shall be off feed long enough prior to delivery to assure empty stomachs during transport and stocking.
