Strategic Planning Framework (10 year lookahead) • Create strategic facilities plan baseline, goals, and objectives • Project Executive Committee activation and engagement to understand and develop scope • Develop collaborative process schedule to aid decision making • Submit requests for relevant documents or information not covered in previous studies Step 2. Gap Analysis (Previous Studies, ie Volume Projections & Business Evaluations) • Work sessions to identify gaps • Review of all existing deliverables by the selected team • Scope refinement for the facilities plan effort based on the gap analysis Step 3. Growth Projections and Space Needs: • Current State Analysis (validate information from previous studies) Goal: Validate existing KPU’s (Key Planning Units), space & operations o Validate summary of current state capacity, Departmental Gross Square Feet (DGSF), right size analysis for existing buildings • Future State Capacity Analysis (validate information from previous studies) Goal: Validate the KPU’s (Key Planning Units) for the new build and enabling projects o Bed counts: Validate bed counts and specialty beds e.g., observation beds o Diagnostic & Treatment Strategy: Validate KPU projections by service line for Emergency Department, Surgery, Interventional, etc. o Administration space needs o Application of best practices and lessons learned from prior projects o Identify benchmarking data and sources to assist the Owner to make informed decisions o High Level Summary Space Program • Future State Operational Narrative (validate previous studies) Goal: Validate operational processes o Workflow processes: patient, staff, and material interface o Ancillary services distribution: clinical labs, diagnostics & imaging, sterile processing, etc. o Logistic services distribution: supply chain, food services o Assess location, use & utilization of administrative workspace o Use of existing space in the Purple & Red buildings o Explore digital delivery and AI technologies that maximize efficiencies in operations and space o Key Room Space Program
