2.1 MATERIAL: HIGH-PERFORMANCE COLD MIX BITUMINOUS PATCH 2.2 DESCRIPTION: Shall be suitable for repair of paved areas and for replacement of paving removed in the process of underground pipe repair and replacement. Nothing in this Specification shall be interpreted as relieving the Successful Bidder of the responsibility for furnishing a product suitable for the intended purpose. 2.3 QUALITY: The material shall be composed of a suitable aggregate, mixed by the producer at their facility, with a high-performance liquid cutback blend. The material shall be mixed in accordance with the blend manufacturers' specifications and with the requirements of this Solicitation. 2.3.1 AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS - AASHTO T-182: Immediately after mixing, the high-performance cold mix shall meet the requirements of AASHTO T-182. 2.3.2 Not more than five percent (5%) of the aggregate particles shall remain uncoated. 2.3.3 The high-performance liquid blend shall comprise not less than five percent (5%) of the total mix by weight. 2.3.4 The high-performance cold mix shall have a workable ambient service temperature range of minus fifteen degrees Fahrenheit (-15F) to one hundred ten degrees Fahrenheit (110° F). The high-performance cold mix shall remain pliable and cohesive between these temperatures, with no degradation of the coating retention, bonding, or adherence to the area being repaired. 2.3.5 The material shall be homogeneous and free of lumps. 2.3.6 The mix shall retain its adhesive qualities in applications which are damp or wet at the time of application. 2.3.7 The mix shall retain all of its performance characteristics after remaining in an uncovered stockpile for a minimum of six (6) months. 2.3.8 The liquid cutback blend shall be a high-performance blend.
