The Kanawha Development Project primarily consists of demolition and restoration work on both sides of US Rt. 60 Northwest of Boomer, WV. The existing drainage infrastructure that conveys stormwater flows from the north side of the site under US Rt. 60 and an active railroad to a pond prior to discharge to the Kanawha River on the south side of the site, is in poor condition and requires replacement and potential rerouting. Further, three concrete silos located on the north side of US Rt. 60 need to be demolished and hauled off or buried in place per WVDEP regulations. The former tramway on the north side of the site has significant refuse and debris, it has shown no signs of instability but will need to be restored and seeded.
